One of the first three films that were planned to be the first full-length Finnish features, made by same filmmakers one after another in the summer of 1911. Others were "Hyökyaaltoja" and "Anna-Liisa". Of these three, only "Sylvi" was released. The only Finnish feature film made before country's independence in 1917, that is not completely destroyed: 13 minutes of the film still exists. Kaarlo Teuvo Puro (November 9, 1884 Helsinki – July 24, 1956 Helsinki) was a Finnish actor, writer, and director. Puro co-directed the first Finnish fiction film, Salaviinanpolttajat, with Louis Sparre in 1907.
